Informatie over Oudtshoorn in de Klein Karoo in Zuid-Afrika

Algemene informatie
Oudtshoorn, gelegen tussen de bergen van Outiniqua en Swartberg. heeft een naam als het centrum van de struisvogelfokkerij. Er zijn dan ook vele struisvogelboerderijen te vinden in de nabije omgeving.  Hier kan men niet alleen de struisvogels of hun eieren bekijken of kopen maar ook op de beesten rijden.

Cango Caves
Zo'n 30 kilometer buiten Oudtshoorn liggen de Cango Caves een verzameling grotten met vele stalachmieten en stalachtieten. Deze zijn in volle glorie te zien tijdens een guided tour. De Cango Caves zijn archeologisch en ecologisch zeer belangrijk en worden beschouwd als 1 van de 7 wonderen van Zuid-Afrika en het historisch hoogtepunt bvan de Klein Karoo regio.
